A MUSICAL treat is promised in Earley this Saturday night thanks to a choir.
The Erleigh Cantors will be performing at Earley St Peter’s Church in Church Road from 7pm.
The theme is Ave Maria, and will feature music by Holst, Bruckner, Howells, Vivanco, Schubert, Dubra, Grieg, Guerrero, and Debussy.
The Erleigh Cantors have been performing for more than 30 years, singing in cathedrals around the UK to raise funds for good causes.
This year’s concert is in aid of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice and Earley St Peter’s Church and the choir says it hopes to beat last year’s achievement of more than £800.
The Cantors are directed by Ian Westley and our organist this year is Simon Dinsdale.
There will be a flute solo from Clive Nunn, while Mr Dinsdale will perform some solo pieces on the organ.
Short readings will be given by Merry Evans.
A range of Mama Nunn home-made preserves will be on sale in aid of the hospice – this initiative has raisd more than £8,000 so far – and refreshments will be available.
Entry is by a suggested donation of £10, £8 for students
