A beverage that will support the chosen charity of the mayor of Wokingham was launched in the town last weekend.
Called Follow Your Nose, 10% of proceeds from sales of the pilsner will help to support the Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue Dogs, the charity chosen by Cllr Sally Gurney.
Ian Scratton from Finchampstead brewers Elusive Brewing told Wokingham Today how the partnership came about.
He said: “Cllr Gurney has been friends with Elusive for a while, so when the idea of brewing a beer to help her charity came up, we were more than happy to join in.
“We all love dogs at the tap room.”
Cllr Gurney helped to create the limited edition drink earlier this year, and she gave her opinion on hops and flavours to the head brewer.
Ian described the pilsner as having a clean, crisp flavour that’s heavily influenced by New Zealand hops – including a relatively new one called Nectaron which offers a sweet, peachy taste.
Cllr Gurney added her thanks to Elusive.
She said: “They’re a brilliant local business that is super community focused.
“They’re also regulars at our market, and they’re just lovely, lovely people.”
Follow your Nose will be available from all Elusive Brewing outlets, and it will also be available at the Wokingham May Fayre.
