FROM small acorns … a new arts trail is to take place across Reading and Wokingham later this May, giving people a chance to meet artists in their studios.
The Acorn Open Studios sees eight creative people showcase their work and talents in a three-day celebration.
This is the first year of the new trail, and the aim is to encourage accessibility to art and artists while sharing secrets of the creative process.
Those taking part are: Elizabeth Baldin from Spencers Wood, Calina Lefter from Earley, printmaker Trish Roberts from Wokingham, Liz Chaderton from Hurst, Sayani Drury from Shinfield, Kusum Shabong from Lower Earley, Christine Morgan from Wokingham, and Linda Saul from Charvil.
Christine specialises in artists’ books, painting, drawing and ceramics, while Linda is into painting and printmaking. All other artists enjoy creating paintings and drawings.
The venues are open from 11am to 5pm daily from Saturday, May 25, through to Whitsun holiday Monday. Some will also open earlier.
The event, while its own trail, is part of the West Berkshire and North Hampshire Open Studios.
