Wokingham’s Peach Street will be closed to traffic for three nights this week to enable drainage works to take place for Market Place.
The road will be closed from its junction with Easthampstead Road, by TG Art Gallery and The Teak House thai restaurant, through to Market Place – which is already closed to traffic – to enable Wokingham Borough Council contractors to undertake the works.
An alternative route will be in place during the works which run from 8pm to 5.30am on Monday, February 5, Tuesday, February 6 and Wednesday, February 7.

The official route takes people out of Wokingham town centre to get on to the Finchampstead Road, however, it make be easier for people to turn right at The Ship Inn and drive down Cross Street and into Rose Street, then turning right on Broad Street.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be: Easthampstead Road, Heathlands Road, B3430 Nine Mile Ride, A321 Sandhurst Road, A321 Finchampstead Road, Molly Millars Lane, B3349 Barkham Road, Station Approach and A329 Reading Road or by this route in reverse.
