TWO deputy mayors and an MP were among show jumping riders enjoying the fun of a Wokingham fair on Saturday.
The hobby horse activity was just one of the traditional attractions at WADE Day Centre’s Summer Fair.
Wokingham MP Clive Jones, Deputy Wokingham Borough Mayor Cllr Rob Comber, and Deputy Wokingham Town Council Mayor Cllr Alwyn Jones cantered with other ‘riders’ around the hobby horse course.
Wade centre manager Elaine Anderson said: “The hobby horses proved a big hit, with children queuing to take the horses round the course against the clock, and Chloe from Willis Personal Training providing a perfect running commentary.”
The horses from Hobby Horses of Hurst were sponsored by Wokingham businesses: Jays Printers, Lazy Frog, Willis Personal Training, Energie, Therapies on Thames, Outhouse Brewery, Pratts Pod, and Brown Bag.
“We had a lovely day with some good old-fashioned games like the coconut shy and the hoopla, Play Your Cards Right and ping pong jars,” continued Elaine.
“The Phoenix Ukulele band played throughout, and despite the rain there were lot of smiles on lots of faces.”
Wade Day Centre supports older people in Wokingham from Monday to Friday with home-cooked lunches, activities, services, and a friendly environment in which to socialise.
