A new data forecast from the Compare.bet Supercomputer has predicted that Reading FC will narrowly escape relegation from League One this season.
The projection, which simulates the remainder of the EFL season based on current form and fixture difficulty, has tipped Frank Lampard’s Coventry to bounce back strongly from their first defeat of the season against Wrexham. The Sky Blues are expected to secure automatic promotion as champions, with Ipswich Town finishing runners-up, four points behind.
While much of the attention has focused on the Championship race, the forecast also offers insights into League One, where Reading look for an upturn in form following the appointment of manager Leam Richardson who replaced Noel Hunt.
Despite suffering a shocking FA Cup loss to non-league Carlisle United in his first match as Reading manager, the Royals bounced back on Thursday evening with an important win over Stevenage.

That means that Reading’s next game comes on Saturday, November 22 when they host Richardson#s former club Rotherham United. Richardson had a tricky spell in charge of the Millers where he won just two of his 24 league matches before he was dismissed.
