A WOKINGHAM pub has reopened to customers following its full renovation.
Popular Chef & Brewer pub Ye Olde Leathern Bottel, on Barkham Road, has been given a six-figure overhaul by owners Greene King.
Local residents and loyal customers Chris and Richard Allen were invited to cut the ribbon marking the pub’s official relaunch.
The 17th century building has undergone a top-to-bottom renovation and it is now welcoming customers back through its doors to experience the pub’s improved look and feel.
Following an official reopening on Saturday, the pub’s general manager Klaudyna Wolanska said: “Ye Olde Leathern Bottel is a much-loved country pub in the heart of Barkham, known for its historic charm.
“We are delighted to be welcoming customers back through the doors to see all we have to offer following a major refurbishment, with improvements both inside and out ensuring the perfect countryside setting for guests to meet up with friends and family and enjoy a delicious pub meal or drink.
“With a fantastic beer garden, cosy dining and bar spaces, and delicious food and drinks menus, Ye Olde Leathern Bottel caters to any occasion.”
The works have carefully preserved the pub’s traditional charm, says Greene King, whilst ensuring elevated experiences with a range of modern-day comforts.
It has benefited from a new bar, as well as comfortable new furniture, stylish décor, soft lighting and expanded seating in the restaurant area, which, says Greene King, has created a warm and welcoming space for drinkers and diners alike to enjoy throughout the week.
The pub’s large beer garden has been fully refurbished, too, with upgraded furniture, lighting and a new pergola, creating the ultimate outdoor destination for visitors seeking an alfresco meal or tipple during the warmer months and beyond.
And its exterior façade has also been enhanced, improving the pub’s kerbside appeal.
Following the refurbishment, customers can try the pub’s new drinks and food menus, which include a range of seasonal dishes, pub classics and Sunday roasts.
Signature highlights include baked prawn & devon crab gratin, Malabar curry, crispy duck salad, and lemon cheesecake bomb.
The pub offers table service via the Greene King app, giving customers the opportunity to order food and drinks and make bookings at the click of a button.
