POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was subjected to a sexual assault on a bus earlier this week.
As part of their appeal, Thames Valley Police has released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in relation to their investigation. Officers said that they believe he has important information that could help them.
The incident took place on Monday, December 19 around 3.35pm.
The victim, a girl aged under 14, was travelling on Reading Buses Lime route 2, between Prospect Park and Lima Court in Reading.
Police said that as she got on she was deliberately tripped up by a man who then sexually assaulted her over her clothes.
Although the incident took place in neighbouring Reading, it is possible that Wokingham.today readers could have information that would help find the man responsible for the assault.
PC Stephen Aylett of Reading police station is leading this investigation.
He said: “The victim is young and is seriously distressed by the offence. I would like to hear from anyone who saw this incident on the bus on Monday.
“I am also keen to trace the man in the CCTV images as we believe he has vital information for our investigation and would ask that anyone who recognises him gets in touch as a matter of urgency.”
