HUNDREDS of youngsters, coaches and families were in attendance at Wokingham and Emmbrook Youth’s annual presentation day.
Around 500 players representing 45 boys and girls teams from Under-7 through to Under-16 level descended on Emmbrook Sports and Social Club with over 1,500 trophies handed out.
Former Wokingham youth player and now Reading Women U15 goalkeeper Georgina Eden-Hasler conducted a raffle, which combined with a second hand boot sale raised £1,100 for the club.
WOKINGHAM UNDER-11s narrowly missed out on the chance of a trip to New York.
Stuart Bevan’s District side, who reached the national finals for the first time in
their history, took on Middlesbrough, Dacorum and South Birmingham at Stoke City’s Bet365 Stadium.
But they struggled for goals on the day, drawing their first two matches 0-0, despite hitting the woodwork, and then losing 1-0 to Birmingham.
Overall winners Middlesbrough will now go on to represent England in the Nations Cup in New York.

WOODLEY UNITED Under-12s ended their campaign on a high with victory in the Berkshire Youth Development League Plate final.
United Tornadoes took the lead against Reading Rangers, only to be pegged back.
However, Woodley restored a two-goal advantage before the break and eventually ran out 6-3 winners at Tadley Calleva’s ground.
