EVERY STEP COUNTS: Making mornings count

I want you inspired.

I want you motivated.

I want you interested and then I want you COMMITTED.

I am going to keep quoting these words every week at the moment as I truly believe they separate the thinkers from the doers; the action takers from the procrastinators and the growth based people out there from the comfort zoners.

Interested people are keen to change but when the going gets tough; excuses can derail the plans and blame and reasons not to succeed take over.

Committed people are all in. They invest in themselves. They see the future as an opportunity to grow and be the best that they can be. Committed people like YOU fund reasons to do it and believe in the concept of CAUSE and EFFECT.

EVERY STEP COUNTS: This year is going to be huge for you

EVERY STEP COUNTS: Make the most of Christmas, it's such a special time of year

Like previous weeks; I want to continue on our journey of the case studies we have been focusing on and try and work through some more methods that are really AMAZING. Last week we covered Guided Visualisations and Time Management.

As you will remember the areas we are going to cover over the next few weeks have been  MEDITATION, SELF HYPNOSIS, GUIDED VISUALISATIONS, TIME MANAGEMENT and will also include OWNING YOUR MORNING, DEEP BREATHING, COGNITIVE CUES, AFFIRMATIONS, TALKING WITH OTHER POSITIVE PEOPLE, TAKE STOCK OF YOUR LIFE EVERY WEEK AND REVIEW and JOURNALLING.

So this week we will cover OWNING YOUR MORNING and DEEP BREATHING.

“Your brain is a powerful tool. You owe it to yourself to make the most of it and make it the sharpest tool in your toolbox.”

Let’s own your morning

So on to this week’s focus and let’s start with OWNING YOUR MORNING.

For me, owning my morning has been the most amazing experience over the last few years especially the last 12 months. The morning is when your brain is like a sponge that you are about to put in a bucket of water. The sponge is your opportunity to take in positive vibes and the bucket of water is the environment in which you live in.

One of my AMAZING clients is a very successful business owner who works with some very well-known celebrities but struggles with self-esteem and lack of confidence in specific areas..

We decided that every morning when she wakes up, she will do some light mobility exercises and at the same time conduct a 5-10 minute AFFIRMATION session to smash her confidence and self-worth into the next stratosphere.

This is what owning your morning is all about  … setting aside some time to boss your life, get you started the right way and really take action from the moment you wake up.

Now, to do this properly needs the right affirmations and the right state of mind when utilising this amazing technique so if you need some help after reading this then look no further. As a former Royal Marines Commando … mornings rule and get you set like a lion for the rest of the day.

DEEP BREATHING is our next focus.

Everyone breathes. Everyone knows how to breathe right? I am guessing depending on your age you have done this millions of times since you were born so it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that it is of slight importance.

There are many methods out there ranging from long slow deep breathing, breathing when conducting yoga exercises, mental breathing etc. but this week I want to focus on just simply sitting back for 60 seconds, closing your eyes and slowly relaxing your body.

One of my clients will be our focus now, let’s call him David.

David is a very busy boy. He manages several businesses, has a family, moves at quite a speed and generally has many things going on all at once.

Sometimes when he comes to see me, you can just tell he is not ready for training. His brain is on overdrive and his work mode mentality is going to affect the session. I stop him in his tracks and hold his shoulders with both my hands.

I tell him to close his eyes and we breathe at the same rate together. We breathe in for 4 seconds and then hold for 4 seconds. After this we breathe out like you do if you were blowing through a straw and we do this for another 4 seconds.

Whilst breathing out we say in our minds “I am breathing out stress, I am breathing out overwhelm.” We continue this for 60 seconds – so five times through roughly.

This tool is amazing and can literally transform the way you think and feel within a few seconds to a minute. This tool works wonders for him and he now uses it throughout the day as and when he needs it.

I SERIOUSLY encourage you to start with this simple technique. It takes maximum 60 seconds, will leave you feeling great and calm and ready to tackle your next target area. Give it a go and let me know how it works out for you? Just a quickie though, this tool is also amazing for children and for children who need to calm down from time to time…does this resonate with you if you are a parent?

I know it does for me and our children.

So there we have it. Two more methods and two more case studies for you to base your own efforts on. Both are different but both have something in common… they leave you MORE PRESENT, MORE FOCUSED and more ENERGISED to be the BEST that YOU can be. Next week we will tackle COGNITIVE CUES and AFFIRMATIONS (In more detail).

I want you inspired.

I want you motivated.

I want you interested and then I want you COMMITTED.

Are you an ACTION TAKER or not?

Will you GROW as a person this week?

Would it make a difference for you to end the year on an absolute HIGH??

Happy Sunday and see you next week ☺
