Reading ended an 11-game winless run by defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Madejski Stadium.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson impressed up front while goalscorer John Swift also stood out in a fine team display from the Royals.

Read the match report here while the player ratings are below.

ANSSI JAAKKOLA: Made some routine saves but had a quiet afternoon and dealt well with some tricky passes back to him – 7

ANDY YIADOM: Impressed on both the right and left and provided the cross for the second goal to kill off the game – 8

TIAGO ILORI: Made a brave block on the edge of the box to ensure Reading went in ahead at half-time – 7

JON DADI BODVARSSON: Led the high press well, chasing and harrying the defenders and goalkeeper all afternoon – 8* (star man)

SUBS:

LEWIS BAKER: Tenacious in midfield when brought on for his debut. Missed a good chance to make it 2-0 but looks like a physical presence – 6

GARATH McCLEARY: Added some fresh legs down the wing and played a key role in the second goal – 6

DANNY LOADER: Brought on during the closing stages and was fouled by Darikwa, leading to the Forest man getting sent off – N/A
