Max Uttley impressed with a superb bowling performance to take five wickets as Wokingham drew with second-placed Oxford.
Oxford won the toss and elected to field first. The Oaks lost a wicket early in the innings as opening batsman James Bird fell for two runs as he was bowled out by Samad Fallah.
Wokingham fell just shy of the half-century mark before the next wicket came as Archie Carter was removed on 27, to leave the score at 48-2.
Oliver Price then took three wickets in a brilliant spell as he dismissed Simon Myles for 12, Stuart Parsons for zero, while Danny Housego was run out on 31. Price then took his third wicket as he caught and bowled Sukhmeet Kang on 25 to leave Wokingham on 145-6.
Iain Muirden was bowled out for 15, while Jacob Clark was Wokingham’s top performer with the bat as he hit six boundaries on his way to scoring 43 from 61 balls.
Wokingham finished with a score of 186-8 after 51 overs.
Oxford started reasonably well as they began their chase with Price and Harvey Eltham opening the batting for the visitors.
Wokingham remained patient and were rewarded with two quick wickets. Paul Dewick took the first wicket to remove Eltham for 20, before Uttley gained his first wicket of the day to bowl out Price for 14 with Oxford on 35-2.
The hosts strong bowling continued as Dewick took the wicket of Muhummad Ayub for seven before Uttley added his second to remove Owyn Tong-Jones for four runs.
Robert Craze batted a fine innings to put Oxford’s chase back on track, but the wickets continued to fall as Jacob Clark caught and bowled Fergus Nutt to make the score 74-5.
Having surpassed the century mark, Uttley maintained his brilliant form with the ball to dismiss Jamie Perkin and then Shamilal Mendis with Oxford on 111-7.
Wokingham finally took the wicket of Craze after he had added 50 to the total, but they would be frustrated by Oxford as the visitors held on for a draw to finish their 45 over innings on 122-5.
The Oaks remain in fourth place in the table having played 14 matches as they prepare to face Dinton away from home this Saturday.
