Reading FC manager Paul Ince is hopeful that Naby Sarr will be involved in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Rotherham.
Sarr has been training with the Royals for more than two weeks as the club waits on EFL approval to sign the player who left Huddersfield Town earlier this summer.
It has been a frustrating period for the club who have been waiting for the green light to sign the 6’6 defender.
“I’m hoping things will be ok for him to be involved on Saturday,” said Ince.
“We’re hoping. We’re all hoping.
“With Naby in we will be more solid.
“If we can be hard to beat and not concede too many, we will always have a chance of scoring with the likes of Thomas (Ince) and Shane (Long).”
The Royals will be full of confidence after they picked up three points in their first home Championship match last weekend against Cardiff City.
They came back from an early deficit to win the game 2-1 with goals from Long and Ince.
Ince continued: “Rotherham is a tough place to go. They like to press high and will cause teams problems as we saw against Swansea.
“We’re positive after the Cardiff result and now we will see where it takes us.
“We’ve got a period of tough games and we want to go into that all guns blazing, but we haven’t got that at the moment.
“But we can’t keep moaning, we’ve got to go, play and pick up points.
“We’ve got what we’ve got, it’s no different from Cardiff.
“We’ve had to be careful with the players but we’ve had them on the pitch doing preparation for Saturday and we now go again.”
