A CHURCH in Wokingham is doing something different this Christmas.
Its festive activities include not only the usual carols and mince pies, but an opportunity to climb.
Foundation Church services take place on Sunday afternoons at the Oakwood Climbing Centre.
This year the two organisations have teamed up to offer an event that allows people to enjoy Christmas fare and carols, followed by a climbing session in the Oakwood facilities.
Anyone is welcome to join the event, and booking is not necessary.
The group’s usual church service time will be extended to 7pm, allowing a number of activities to take place.
Visitors to the event can expect a live band leading a time of carol singing, free mulled wine and mince pies, kids crafts, prizes for the best nativity themed fancy dress costume, and climbing.
Food will be provided by caterers, The Fat Tabby.
The event takes place at The Oakwood Climbing Centre, Waterloo Road, on Sunday, December 18, at 4.30pm.
Normal climbing centre entry rules will apply.
