IN THIS performance no-one knows who the killer is – not even the cast.
That’s because a CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation puts the plot firmly in the hands of the audience.
The professional live theatre company returns to Wokingham with another rip-roaring crime comedy made up entirely on the spot.
Following multiple five-star sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, the team of expert improvisers will blag their way heroically through a hilarious and truly preposterous murder mystery.
Who is the killer? How did they do it? And with what?
The audience will decide – and will then watch the talented actors ‘get out of that one’ if they can.
Of course, they will, because that’s their super power.
Professional actor Sarah Kempton, founder member of the group, is a Wokingham resident.
She has been leading improvisation workshops locally for the past year, giving brave participants opportunities to enjoy learning this nerve-racking, but hugely entertaining and enjoyable performance style.
By her own admission, she ‘loves to make stuff up’.
“I just love it,” she said.
“Improvisation is not something you can do on your own.
“You play as a team, supporting each other, and that’s when improv clicks and pops.
“It’s the most fantastic thing – you just know that your team mate will help you.
“And when you have that level of trust it’s so exciting, not just to play, but for the audience to watch.
“And it’s so joyful.”
CSI will visit Wokingham Theatre, Twyford Road, for one night only on Saturday, November 8.
The bar is open from 7pm, with the show starting at 7.45pm.
