Hurley Regatta returns for its 50th anniversary on Saturday, August 19, after a four-year break.
The family-friendly event, which began in 1973, is back after an enforced absence due mainly to Covid-19 restrictions.
Spokesman Peter Graham said: “We have been messing about in boats for five decades and this year sees the return of races including the ever-popular bath races – yes racing baths in the river – six-seater katakanus, giant paddleboards, raft races as well as a tug-of-war on water.”
More traditional races, including kayak, skiff, dingy and Canadian canoe races and there are competitions for all age groups.
Peter added: “If you don’t fancy going on the river we have land-based activities as well – including egg-throwing, bale-rolling, Pelhams funfair and much more.”
