A BLUEBIRD carer has won a national honour at the prestigious Dementia Care Awards 2025.
Kadijatu Koroma, known as KK, a carer with Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell took home the Dementia Community Care Worker of the Year Award.
She said: “It honestly feels surreal; I’m floating on cloud nine.
“From being interviewed on my birthday and feeling so anxious, to now receiving this award, it feels like life has come full circle.
“I feel celebrated, and I’m soaking it all in.
“This is a quiet, powerful kind of joy.”
The award recognises community-based care professionals who are transforming dementia support through compassion, innovation and real-world impact.
KK was praised for her ability to truly connect with the individuals she supports, bringing warmth, purpose and calm to every interaction.
The judges highlighted her intuitive, person-centred approach and her gift for empowering others, both the customers she cares for and the colleagues she mentors.
This is KK’s second major recognition in just a few months.
She was previously named Regional Winner of The Dementia Carer Award at the Great British Care Awards and went on to receive a Highly Commended title at the national finals.
