DO NOT climb on garage roofs was the message from firefighters after a teenager feel through one while trying to retrieve his football.
A 13-year-old boy was last night being treated for a suspected broken ankle after crashing through an asbestos roof at an address in Hamilton Road, Earley.
The incident was spotted and phoned in by a neighbour, with an ambulance dispatched to the scene.
Because the boy was now trapped inside the garage, a crew from Wokingham Road Fire Station was also required.
They provided first aid prior to the arrival of the ambulance.
His parents were also at home when the incident happened at approximately 6.30pm.
“Don’t climb on garage roofs,” said Wokingham Road watch manager Darren Barrett.
