This week’s Bracknell and Wokingham planning roundup features a major extension for a popular theatre.

Padel tennis lovers could soon have somewhere to play in Bracknell Forest.
Golfplex Entertainment Centre in Binfield would like to build three covered padel tennis courts and one uncovered court on its grounds.
The raquet sport has grown in popularity recently and is often described as a mixure between tennis and squash.
Plans have received dozens of letters of support from members of the public, arguing it is a ‘fast growing sport’.
Bracknell Forest Council has validated the application and a decision is yet to be made.
Wokingham Borough Council: 242967
Wokingham Theatre has won approval for a two storey extension.
The volunteer-run facility located in Cantley Park has existed since 1947.
They will build the extension to form a link between its main building and storage barn.
Plans also involve closing the old access to create a new one, and creating public parking spaces.
The extension will be used as a constume store, dressing room and bathroom on the ground floor, and a studio theatre and tech box on the first floor.
Wokingham Borough Council has approved the plans and it is not yet known when work will begin.

A VE day celebration flag will appear outside Bracknell Forest Council’s offices.
The council had to apply for planning permission to fly the flag, which is commemorating the 80th anniversary of the allied power’s victory in Europe.
Planning officers have approved the scheme subject to conditions.
No adverts can be displayed without the permission of the owner or if it endangers people using the road.
VE day will be celebrated across the country on May 8.

The next steps for a restaurant set to open on Crowthorne high street have been approved.
The Vault 327 will serve modern European Cuisine in the former Triple BBB’s Smokehouse.
Opening this month, plans continue to progress for the site.
Bracknell Forest Council has approved its adjusted opening hours, which will allow the restaurant to serve from breakfast until dinner time.
It will open between 8am to 11pm from Mondays to Thursdays and 8am until 12pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
It will then open from 9am to 11pm on Sundays and public holidays.
