A WOMAN in her 60s has been taken to hospital following an assault in Woodley.
Thames Valley Polcie said a 63-year-old man has been arrested.
Earlier today, an area close to a house in Woodley was sealed off and an ambulance was given a blue light police escort.
The incident happened close to an address on Fairwater Drive, opposite its junction with Kingfisher Drive, around 4.30pm on Sunday, April 14.
A large police presence was sent to the area, including several vehicles.
Police have erected cordons close to a house at the end of a block of terraced homes, preventing people from entering an area next to an alleyway, and officers are currently investigating.
The officers are also present on a footpath close to the affected area.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing someone receiving medical care at the scene.
In a statement, Thames Valley Police said: “We are currently at the scene of an assault in Fairwater Drive, Woodley in which a woman was injured.
