UPDATED 16.32
There has been an accident in Station Road. Shute End, Wellington Road, Station Link Road are ALL CLOSED to traffic. Barkham Road has just partially re-opened.
The railway crossing is CLOSED at this time.
We understand that a female pedestrian, believed to be in her twenties, has collided with a what we understand to be a container lorry. She has multiple life-threatening injuries and is now on her way to John Radcliffe hospital by road, ambulance crews are leaving the scene. At this stage, it is not known exactly how the accident happened.
As of 4pm, the police cordon is still in place and the lorry is on the scene.
A rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officers, and the air ambulance car has been sent to the scene.
