STARS from the big and small screen will be out of this world when they come to Lower Earley next month, and it’s all thanks to a shared love of fantasy.
Brian Blessed, known to millions for his role in the 1980 sci-fi flick Flash Gordon, is the headline guest for the Reading Comic Con, which connects fans with their favourite actors.
Also announced is Craig David Dowsett, Sean Biggerstaff, Paul Blake and Steven Woodcock.
Comic book illustrators Nick Gribbon and Paul Fry will be delighting fans of the printed adventure, and to mark the 60th anniversary of the adventure in space and time that is Doctor Who, there will be displays dedicated to Daleks, K-9 and the Tardis.
Props from Jaws, Stranger Things and Star Wars will be on show and there will be photo opportunities with Gremlins from the cult 1980s movie of the same name.
Guests are encouraged to take part in cos-play – dressing as favourite characters – and showcase the creativity.
This is the first time in three years that the event is being held and this time it is moving to Lower Earley Leisure Centre, off Rushey Way, and be held on Saturday, November 25.
Paul Waidley, manager at Creed Conventions, said: “I am thrilled that Creed Conventions is back, with the support of my team, we promise to still bring you the fun and excitement that our events have been synonymous since 2016, with fresh new event locations and ideas that will set us up for many more years to come.”
