A Wokingham business has had its plans for an advertising sign refused by planning officers at Wokingham borough council.
Rideworx at 125 Reading Road had submitted an application for the installation of a new LED advertising sign.
Notes to the application said the sign “.. will be used for advertising services to passing traffic.
“The proposed billboard would be a modern solution to advertising.
“This sign will make the area feel more modern and invested in, showing information on local businesses that inform the public as they walk past, helping boost local commerce in the area.”
In rejecting the application earlier this month, officers said: “The proposed internally illuminated LED totem signboard would introduce an advertisement that, due to its size, scale, position, illumination and changing display, would be visually dominant and unduly prominent to the detriment of the character and appearance of the surrounding area.”
