A FARLEY HILL care home has been running a series of arts and craft sessions to help residents and community members.
Woodbury House activities co-ordinator Katty Wakeham said that the sessions have been very enjoyable and will next week be welcoming a local primary school to help. The event is run in conjunction with AgeUK.
She said: “In the first week, we made clay animals from air drying clay (or Play Doh for those who needed something softer). Myself and my co-worker Irene set up the table and assisted with making small clay animals and discussing our favourite animals and memories of arts and crafts in our lives.
“It was a very enjoyable afternoon and our residents are looking forward to the next session where we will be painting the animals and doing some colouring in.”
The sessions run on Wednesday afternoons from 2.30pm and is open to beginners and more experienced artists.
The final week will culminate in an art exhibition with work from the previous sessions displayed alongside work from artists and children in the local community.
