A popular bakery in Peach Place has closed.
On Monday, June 6, Blue Orchid Bakery owner, Elena, posted the news:
“It’s with huge amounts of sadness that Blue Orchid Bakery is officially closed.
“I have made the difficult decision to close the cafe in Peach Place to focus on my passion of Wedding and Celebration cakes.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision and I will miss all our customers dearly.
“The last three and a half years have been truly amazing and full of ups and downs with the best staff by my side.”
Elena continued:
“We’ve won awards, came top 10% on Trip Advisor, and delivered all throughout lock down.
“We provided free school lunches when they were needed and delivered cupcakes every week to our NHS when covid was at its worst.
“I want to thank all of you for your custom and support, it’s truly appreciated and I can’t wait to share what the future holds.”
The bakery and cafe opened in May 2019, making home made, hand made cakes, brownies, and savouries and earned five stars on TripAdviser and Google.
People are commenting on Blue Orchid Bakery’s Facebook page that they will miss the cafe and its team and wish Elena success for the future.
It has not been possible to contact the cafe for comment.
