Reading FC managed to recover to take a draw against Barnsley as debutant Haydon Roberts scored and Jack Marriott was on the scoresheet once again.
Making his first apperancae for the Royals having signed for the club on a permanent deal from Bristol City last week, Roberts got off to the perfect start when he arrived late at the back post to convert to put Reading ahead.
The Tykes levelled not long after through seasoned striker David McGoldrick and then went in front in the second-half when Adam Phillips’ deflected strike beat Joel Pereira.
Leam Richardson’s side ensured that they would earn a point when start striker Marriott continued his superb season with an 84th minute equaliser.
The result leaves Reading in 13th place on 36 points, six points outside the play-off places.
