FOLLOWING Dobbies restructuring plan, its Shinfield garden centre will shortly reopen under new management.
British Garden Centres has announced its acquisition of the store, and says that Dobbies Reading Garden Centre will be renamed Shinfield Garden Centre to better reflect the area and local community.
Charles Stubbs, Founder and Director of British Garden Centres said: “We’re excited to welcome the Shinfield store to the British Garden Centres family.
“This is an important step for us as we continue to grow, and we’re thrilled to become a part of the Reading community and beyond.
“We look forward to welcoming back old customers and serving our new customers, to become a valuable resource for local gardeners.”
The move marks a milestone for British Garden Centres – the UK’s largest family-run garden centre group – and takes its portfolio to 67 stores.
It will be retaining the existing centre team, and looks forward to working with them to ensure the continued success of the community it serves.
It says its immediate priority now is to work together with them to restock and reopen the centre as soon as possible in mid to late February.
Shinfield Garden Centre will be looking to recruit extra roles too, with job vacancies posted on the British Garden Centres website.
