The developer behind a scheme to build homes on a site in Arborfield is set to hold a drop-in session in the village next week.
Croudace Homes will reveal more details of its draft proposals for land north of School Road, adjacent to the Coombes CofE primary school.
The firm describes itself as a regional residential developer that was founded in 1946, and remains a family-owned business.
A statement on its website said: “We are committed to building high-quality homes, backed up with first-class customer service.
“We aim to produce new homes to suit all budgets and set ourselves high standards for the design and build quality of our developments, whilst also ensuring they fit well in their local environment.”
The exact number of homes it plans for the site have yet to be revealed, however its project website said: “We are looking to deliver new homes in Arborfield Cross, with 40% of them affordable.”
It added that proposals are still at an early stage of development.
One local councillor has issued a warning to residents to be wary about providing comments to the developer at this stage.
Cllr Rebecca Margetts said: “If you want to attend the drop-in to see the details of this scheme, do be very careful about any comments you give.
“Developers will use any of your comments to improve their application, and to make changes to deal with the negative impacts you will highlight.
“The time to make your comments is on the application, if and when it is submitted.”
The developer did not respond to a request from Wokingham Today to explain how many homes it is planning to build on the site, and what timescale is involved.
Wokingham Today understands the developer could initially be trying to establish the principle of building new homes on the site.
The drop-in session will take place on Tuesday, July 9, between 3.30pm and 8pm, at the Royal British Legion on Eversley Road in Arborfield.
