AN ELDERLY couple from Bracknell were taken to hospital earlier suffering from potential carbon monoxide poisoning.
A crew from the town’s fire station joined paramedics at an address in Broad Lane after the alarm was raised at approximately 2.15pm.
The emergency services had been called out by the occupants of the house, with the ambulance crew then requesting assistance from the fire brigade having suspected a potential carbon monoxide leak.
The couple later became unconscious and were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters helped ventilate the property and spent around an hour at the scene.
Gas engineers were also in attendance, but the reason why the pair fell unwell remains a mystery, as no carbon monoxide was detected in the house.
As a precaution, however, the gas main has been isolated while awaiting further inspection.
