A consultation has opened into plans to build five new properties following the demolition of the exciting dwelling and an attached garage.
The plans for the plot at 58 Finchampstead Road have already attracted a number of objections from neighbours.
In its plans, agents said: “The site comprises a detached two-storey dwelling with an attached single storey garage, and two large outbuildings within its curtilage.
“The dwelling is sited in an extensive plot which amounts to approximately 0.5ha.
“The site is accessed from Finchampstead Road via a long, private drive which also serves Eyre Court and 58A Finchampstead Road.
One neighbour wrote how the current access to properties is down a small single track road.
“ This is clearly inadequate for the increase in traffic if the planning was allowed to go ahead unchallenged.
“Even now, if someone comes in from the main road when someone is going out, there is only one small pull -n for a vehicle to wait in whilst the other passes.
“This a problem even now with our current levels of traffic, without having additional vehicles using the same small, single track road, if these houses were allowed to be built.”
The consultation remains open until September 18.
