A WOKINGHAM charity has announced the date for its next annual night-time fund raiser.
First Days Children’s Charity Glow Walk 2024 will bring together families for an evening of vibrant colours and glow-in-the dark decorations.
Children and adults will be able to walk beneath the stars, as they follow an illuminated route around a borough lake glowing with LED lights.
Participants are encouraged to add to the fun by lighting up themselves with glow-in-the dark accessories too.
As well as a scenic walk, families can enjoy interactive light displays, live music, and entertainment for all ages.
There will be glow-in-the-dark hair braids, an illuminated juggler, and festive food and drink stalls.
Hot chocolate, hot dogs, burgers, prosecco, beer and mulled wine will be available to purchase from Dinton Activity Centre, with live music from Abi Powell and Saxcelerate.
More adventurous visitors to the event can also take part in illuminated stand up paddleboarding organised by Go With The Flo.
The Glow Walk is a celebration of community, says the charity, and a chance to support their mission, with all proceeds directly benefitting First Days.
The orgnisation supports families living in the local area who are struggling financially to provide the essentials for their children.
Ellie Gosling, fundraising and events manager for First Days, said: “We’re excited to bring the community together.
“The Glow Walk offers a unique opportunity for families, friends, and neighbours to connect while supporting a cause that makes a real difference.
“We can’t wait to see everyone glowing with enthusiasm and helping us shine a light on our mission.”
The event will take place at Dinton Pastures Country Park, on Saturday, November 16, from 5pm until 9pm.
Tickets are now available, with tiered pricing options to accommodate different circumstances.
The group says there will be no judgement, disclosure or difference in the event experience according to the tier purchased.
Parking costs £3 per car for the duration of the event (discounted from £2.30/hour), and must be purchased in advance.
