THE Met Office has issued a warning for dense fog across the south of England from this evening through to lunchtime tomorrow.
Visibility will be down to less than 100m at times.
The warning says that it will be widespread and dense, which could affect tomorrow’s commute.
The chief forecaster’s assessment is that: “A slack, moist airmass lying across much of England will allow fog to readily form again on Sunday night, reducing visibility to less than 100m at times. Fog will slowly lift and clear from many places through Monday.”
Three weeks of road closures
It’s not the only problem that commuters will face tomorrow. There will be emergency road closures in force.
In Shinfield, Church Lane and Hyde End Lane will closed from tomorrow (Monday, November 2) until November 23.
The closure is to allow Southern Energy to install main cables in safety.
During the works a diversion will be in place:
Church Lane – via Church Lane (eastern section), A327 Hollow Lane and Brookers Hill, or this route in reverse
Hyde End Lane – via B3349 Hyde End Road, A327 Hollow Lane, Brookers Hill, Hyde End Lane (northern section), Ryeish Lane and Croft Road
The second closure is in Remenham.
Culham Lane will be closed from tomorrow until November 20, again to allow works to be carried out in safety. This time, it’s to enable Wokingham Borough Council the opportunity to conduct drainage repairs.
During the works, a diversion is in place:
Via Kentons Lane, A321 Wargrave Road and A4130 Remenham – or this route in reverse.
Access for residents and business will be maintained at all times.
