Football round-up: Ascot United lead the way, Berks County hit four and S4K take point

BINFIELD put another point on the board despite losing a two goal lead at Hanworth Villa.

The Moles went two goals in front with two strikes from Massimo Giamattei either side of half-time.

However, the hosts made a comeback with two goals in the final 1- minutes to ensure that the points were shared.

Binfield are in ninth place with 17 points from nine games with games in hand over all the teams above them.

ASCOT UNITED lead the way after they defeated Burnham 2-1.

The Burnham goalkeeper ensured the teams went in level at half-time after he kept out Ollie Harris’ penalty.

The Yellas broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart when Brendan Matthew found the net.

Just a minute later Ascot doubled their lead when Harris fired home to make amends.

Despite a stoppage time penalty from Burnham, Ascot collected three points to go top of the table..

READING CITY kept their winning streak going with a comfortable away win at Virginia Water.

The Cityzens raced into the lead when Joe Pilling put them in front after two minutes.

Reading had a 3-0 advantage at the break with goals from Tyler D’Cruz and Dan Davies.

The win keeps City in second place, just one point behind leaders Ascot.

 

WOKINGHAM & EMMBROOK suffered a heavy home defeat to Egham Town.

The Sumas conceded three times in each half and fell to a 6-1 defeat despite a consolation goal from Toby Haworth.

Wokingham are in 19th position on eight points from 16 games.

Combined Counties Division One

BERKS COUNTY hit Bagshot for four to collect three points.

Charlie Oakley slotted the Swords in front on the stroke of half-time.

With just over an hour gone, Berks added a second when Ellis Day smacked the ball in from close range.

Berks hit again quickly when Ellis Day headed in his second of the game.

Just seven minutes later, Sam Day made it 4-0 to County before a late goal from Bagshot meant the game ended 4-1.

WOODLEY UNITED lost out away at Spartans Youth.

The hosts had a three-goal advantage before Junaid scored for the Kestrels to make it 3-1.

Woodley are in eighth with 25 points from 15 matches.

Thames Valley Premier League

FINCHAMPSTEAD earned their sixth win in nine games with a victory over SB Phoenix.

A brace from Nick Payne and a goal from Alex Woodhead meant that Finch collected three points with a 3-1 success.

The win puts them on 20 points in second place after nine matches.

READING YMCA climbed up to fifth after they defeated Maidenhead Town.

Pele Hagger scored twice, while goals from Jakub Zmijewski and Alfie Stephens helped YMCA to a 4-2 triumph.

Reading have 13 points from eight matches.

WARGRAVE fell to a narrow defeat at home to league leaders Yateley United.

Southern Region Women’s Premier Division

ASCOT UNITED are in second after they picked up a point at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

The Yellas took the initiative and broke the deadlock through Dom Carrington before the away side hit back to take a point.

Thames Valley Women’s Division One

ASCOT UNITED RESERVES picked up a point on the road at Slough Town.

Ascot are in second position with 13 points from their opening five games with two games in hand on table toppers New Bradwell.

S4K BERKS COUNTY earned a point in a six goal contest at home to Denham United Reserves.

With the game locked at 1-1 at the break, there were four more goals in the second-half which saw it end in a 3-3 stalemate.

Kate Stewart netted a brace for the Fawkes, while Megan Cox also scored.
