WOKINGHAM TOWN LADIES celebrated their first league victory of the season as they defeated WARGRAVE in a high scoring contest.
Bede Pharoah-Lunn notched a hat-trick for Wargrave, but it was the Sumas who were triumphant with five different goalscorers to take a 5-3 success.
Goals from Caitlin Taylor, Genevieve Richards, Bridget Lockwood, Sarah Furkins and Charlotte Loughrey scored for the Sumas to give them three points.
Southern Region Women’s Premier
A second-half rout from ASCOT UNITED maintained their spot at the top as they dispatched of bottom of the table READING FC.
The Royals, still looking for their first points of the season, put up a resilient guard in the first-half and went into the break just one goal down as Kate Fox scored for the hosts.
However, the floodgates opened in the second-half as the league leaders won in style.
Fox continued the scoring and sealed her hat-trick, while goals from Alice Balaam, Sophie Doyle and Georgia Luckhurst McCord wrapped up a 6-0 triumph.
The Yellas have an astonishing record this season having won nine of their 10 league fixtures which gives them a six point lead over closest challengers Oxford City with a game in hand.
Thames Valley Women’s Division Two
CAVERSHAM AFC rescued a point as they came from two goals down to take an away draw at Thame United.
The result keeps Caversham at the top of the table having amassed 23 points from 12 games.
They are three points above second placed Easington Sports who have three games in hand.
Thames Valley Women’s League Cup
S4K LADIES’ cup homes came to an end as they were eliminated by Denham United Reserves.
Joanna Liddell and Claudia Periquito were on the scoresheet for S4k but they were narrowly beaten 3-2.
Combined Counties Premier North
BERKS COUNTY moved another point away from danger with a home draw against Holyport.
The Swords looked destined for defeat before George Dewhurst netted a 95th minute leveller to earn his team a point.
The results puts Berks in 17th spot on 24 points from 26 games, four points about the relegation zone.
