Former Reading FC forward Andy Carroll made an instant impact as he marked his debut for Bordeaux by scoring twice.
Carroll, who made the switch to France last year to join French Division Two side Amiens last summer moved across the country to join fourth tier Bordeaux in the transfer window.
Bordeaux, who have won France’s top division six times in their history (most recently in 2008/09), were relegated to the fourth tier following an administrative double relegation.
Looking to build their way back up the leagues, former England international Carroll helped them on his first appearance for the club.
After finding themselves 2-0 goals down, Carroll reduced a goal on the volley in the 72nd minute.
Boudreaux were then reduced to 10 players, but Carroll popped up with a header to equalise in the 88th minute to earn his team a point.
Carroll made a total of 40 league appearances across two spells with Reading and netted 11 goals.
He started the 2022/23 League One campaign for Ruben Selles’ side before he departed towards the end of the transfer window to join Amiens.
