One of music’s biggest names is preparing to come to the Thames Valley later this year, bringing with him his latest show.
The Hexagon in Reading is to be one of the 20 destinations for Frank Turner’s Get Better tour.
He will be appearing with his band The Sleeping Souls.
Writing on his website, Mr Turner said: “It’s been a long while since we were on home turf. And last time we toured the UK we only played the major cities. So, as is becoming tradition, this time we are hitting some different places, taking the show around the country to see some different people.”
For the show, Mr Turner has teamed up with the organisation Plus 1, so £1 from every ticket sale goes to War Child, a charity supporting children and families affected by conflict and striving for a world where no child’s life is torn apart by war.
He said: “I’m very happy to be working with Plus 1 on this tour. £1 from every ticket goes to the good people at War Child, supporting children and families in communities affected by war all over the world. It feels right to use part of what I do to support such a good cause.”
Support acts
Suporting the band will be Felix Hagan and the Family and Esme Patterson.
He said: “Both hand-picked, both awesome, get down early to catch their sets.”
US tour
Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls will head to the US in September and October for their fourth run of dates there this year before returning home for the ‘Get Better Tour’.
Get Better is a track from Frank Turner’s 2015 album Positive Songs For Negative People.
This July, House of Vans gallery hosted Get Better: 8 Years on the Road with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, a retrospective photo exhibition by director and photographer Ben Morse.
Across 120 unseen, intimate photographs, the exhibition chronicled Ben’s time on the road with Frank Turner and his crew, providing some invaluable insights into what a rock star’s life on tour is really like.
Hexagon tickets
Tickets cost £29 and go on sale on Friday, September 2.
