More than £20,000 has been raised in memory of a young boy who died earlier this year.
Matthew Wilson, known as MatMat, passed away in February just a day after his first birthday following a tragic accident.
Matty Wilson, his grandfather, said: “We want to give back to the people who helped us through the hardest time of our life, and to keep Mat Mat’s memory alive.”
The family also expressed its sincere thanks to Winnersh Royal British Legion for hosting several events, and to everyone who has helped to organise, fundraise and donate in Mat Mat’s memory.
Fundraising events have included coffee morning, darts event, a motorbike ride, a 5k run and a charity golf day – along with many other events.
Last week the family gathered to present cheques to Margaret Clitherow Trust, the South Central Ambulance charity and St Sebastian’s Church – in gratitude for the help they provided.
The family is planning to continue to fundraise in Mat Mat’s memory in future years.
