A HARE HATCH plant nursery has submitted a planning appeal to help keep its shop open.
Hare Hatch Sheeplands has been operating on temporary planning permission for its garden shop and community events since Friday, August 13, last year. This runs out on Monday, March 14.
Earlier this year, Rob Scott, owner of Hare Hatch Sheeplands and operations director Andy Dicks submitted plans for a full £5 million renovation of the site.
The borough council is due to decide on the plan on Wednesday, March 9, and Mr Scott said that he is “optimistic” that it will be approved.
Mr Scott said that he hopes the shop will not be put out of action.
He said that if they have to close the garden shop and stop holding events in the interim, it would “destroy the viability of the business”.
He is urging supporters of Sheeplands to support the centre’s two planning appeals.
“The appeals are heard by the planning inspectorate which as always placed great value on our public support and it is vital that we demonstrate this again,” he explained.
Residents can email their comments to: [email protected] using appeal reference numbers APP/X0360/W/21/3282720 and APP/X0360/W/21/3287734.
The deadline for submissions is Thursday, March 3.
