Hockey round-up: Reading 2s stay top of the table

South Central Men’s Premier 1

READING 2s kept their lead at the top of the table with a comfortable win over Oxford University.

The 5-2 success means that they have won four of their five matches, meaning they have made an unbeaten start to the campaign.

Reading sit at the top with a three point lead over closest challengers Marlow.

South Central Men’s Division 1 North

SONNING sit at the summit of the table after they maintained their unbeaten start with a win over Newbury & Thatcham.

Sonning earned a 2-0 victory over Newbury which means they have picked up 11 points from their opening five league games.

They are one point above second placed Abingdon and third placed READING 3s having played one match more.

South Central Women’s Premier

SONNING added a point to their total with a home draw against Amersham & Chalfont.

The 1-1 stalemate means that Sonning move into ninth position on five points from six matches.

South Central Women’s Premier 2

READING 3s picked up their fourth win in five matches to see them move into first place after their top of the table clash with Winchester.

With Winchester going into the game at the top, Reading ensured they overtook them into pole position with a 3-0 success.

SOUTH BERKSHIRE climbed up to fourth position by winning their second match of the campaign at home to Haslemere with a 4-2 triumph.

South Central Women’s Division 2 North

READING 4s took the points and the bragging rights in their local clash away to SOUTH BERKSHIRE 2s.

The 4-1 win sees Reading move into third position having won four of their five matches.

South Berks are in 10th on two points from five games.

SONNING 2s lost out 3-0 on their away travels to Oxford Hawks 3s.
