New data from the Office for National Statistics has revealed that the average house price in Wokingham stood at £499,000 in July 2025, up by 4.7% in the previous twelve months.
The rise was significantly higher than the 1.2% increase in the south east overall.
Private rents in Wokingham rose to an average of £1,439 in August 2025, an annual increase of 7.2% from £1,343 in August 2024.
This was also higher than the rise in the south east over the year.
The average price paid by first-time buyers was £391,000 in July 2025, while for homes bought with a mortgage, the average house price was £510,000 in July 2025.
(provisional). This was 4.7% higher than the average of £487,000 in July 2024 (revised).

For cash buyers in Wokingham, the average was £464,000 in July 2025, which was up from a revised figure of £444,000 a year earlier. In July 2025, the average was £373,000 in the South East and £257,000 in Great Britain.
