A Wokingham resident avoided disaster by a matter of seconds after a huge tree fell on Thursday evening in Woosehill.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous described the sound of the tree falling as ‘deafening’.
the tree fell at approximately 5:50pm on Thursday by Riverside Walk next to the Emm Brook.
The Wokingham resident said: “The noise was deafening. I had earbuds in with loud music and it still sounded like bombs or machine-gun fire. I wondered what on earth was happening.
“I missed it by seconds as I was walking that path. There must have been an angel on my shoulder.”
