TYRESE FORNAH gave Reading fans a Valentine’s Day gift with his 90th minute match winner to beat Rotherham United.

After a flat first-half display which saw the Royals trailing by a goal at the break, they showed determination and drive to maintain their excellent home form.

Subsidies Nesta Guinness-Walker, Femi Azeez and Fornah all made big impacts to help their team complete the turnaround.

Andy Carroll’s bullet header provided the equaliser and the forward set up Fornah’s match winning goal to end Reading’s run of six Championship games without victory.

“It was an emotional moment, I think I shed a tear,” said Fornah, speaking after his winning goal.

“To be out there scoring goals, that’s what I dreamt of as a kid. Hopefully there are many more to come.

“I believe in myself and am always positive whether I start or not. I know that my ability will shine on the pitch and hopefully now I can be trusted more to start games week in, week out.

“Hopefully this will kickstart our campaign until the end of the season.”

After netting his second goal in Royals colours, the Nottingham Forest loanee explained Paul Ince’s demands for his midfielders to find goalscoring instincts.

Fornah continued: “The gaffer always goes on about midfielders having instincts to be in and around the box. And me in particular, he’s always on about that because he can see I’ve got ability.

“I showed him today (Tuesday) that I can do that.

“It was great for me to come on with those guys (Femi Azeez and Nesta Guinness-Walker).

“Obviously because we’re a similar age we vibe off each other and are close off the pitch.

“I’m buzzing for them because when they came on they were amazing, as were the whole team.

“Now Friday we go again at Cardiff away and want to pick up another three points.

“We believe in each other and trust each other on the pitch. The boys show love to one another and we’ve got to do that on the pitch every week now.”
