IT’S EVERY parent’s wish – get their children off their screens and into the big outdoors. And a Bracknell shopping centre is making that come true this half-term – by holding a gaming event in the outdoors.
Youngsters – and the young at heart – can try out a range of games consoles ranging from the most recent to some of the oldest. Games will include modern-era hits such as FC24 and 1980s coin-op staples including Pac Man.
There are 13 game stations, and they cane be pre-booked in two-hour slots.
The event runs from Friday, October 20, through to Sunday, October 29, in Princess Square at The Lexicon.
And on Saturday, October 28, Cineworld’s gaming day will see people play on the silver screen – one of the largest possible sizes.
Sue Boor, head of marketing at The Lexicon said: “We wanted to try something completely new and with the huge interest in gaming, thought that using friendly multiplayer games, will be a great way to bring people together.”
There will be prizes on offer, while younger visitors can try games such as snakes and ladders, hopscotch and The Floor is Lava.
Cllr Paul Bidwell, executive member for economic development and regeneration at Bracknell Forest Council, said the Game On! Event was a great initiative by The Lexicon that would welcome young people into the town centre.
“I can’t wait to see the games on the big screen,” he said.
