Wokingham MP John Redwood is keen to campaign for a British exit from Europe.
The veteran Eurosceptic spoke to The Wokingham Paper hours after David Cameron announced the date of the EU referendum.
On Thursday, June 23, the country will be asked to vote on whether the UK should remain in European Union or stay.
Mr Redwood has long campaigned for Britain to leave, arguing that it would save money and create new opportunities.
He said: “I am keen to campaign to restore UK democracy.
“We need to get control back over our money, our taxes, out borders, our welfare system and so much else.”
Mr Redwood is a profilic blogger and regularly posts on the issue of Europe.
He said: “I have set out my views on the deal on www.johnredwood.com and on the media.”
And Mr Redwood confirmed that he will be backing the No campaign.
He said: “I support Vote Leave and help GO! [Grassroots Out!]”
