FORENSIC police have been called to a new-built home in Shinfield after a woman’s body was discovered on a doorstep on Boxing Day morning.
Thames Valley Police said that they have arrested a man after they were called to Parker Close in the Shinfield Meadows development at 5.40am on Wednesday, December 26.
A tent has been erected outside the front door of the home, and forensic police were seen this evening inspecting upstairs rooms in their search for clues.
The victim was a woman in her 40s.

In a statement, police said that a man aged 47 and from Shinfield, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
It is thought to be an isolated incident.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Will Crowther – who is based at Maidenhead police station – said: “We are in the early stages of enquiries and a murder investigation has now been launched.
“We have made an arrest in connection with the woman’s death.
“I would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything unusual in Parker Close earlier today and would encourage anyone with information to contact Police.”
