The first meeting took place last week of ‘Indy Wokingham’, a group of independent business owners in Wokingham, with the aim of working together to create positive change through networking, collaboration, innovation, and mutual support.
The event was driven by Georgina Husstler-Sutton of Giftology, and took place at My Little Boardroom.
It was attended by business owners from a wide range of sectors, as well as town centres officer Warwick Heskins, and Wokingham borough council’s executive member for business, Cllr Mark Ashwell.
Thanking Georgina for her work in bringing the group together, Cllr Ashwell said: “It’s great to have businesses driving this initiative, and it’s a good example of the civic pride we have in Wokingham.
“We need to change the narrative. Let’s talk our town up.”
