TWO parish councils joined forces over the weekend to help keep their streets tidy.
Arborfield and Newland, and Barkham Parish Councils held a litter pick which saw 10 bags’ worth of rubbish collected on Saturday morning.
With equipment and refreshments provided by the organisers, residents gave up their time to make sure their areas remained looking presentable.
Annabel Wood, parish clerk at Arborfield and Newland Parish Council, said: “Councillors and residents turned out for the joint litter pick with Barkham Parish Council on Saturday; managing to pick over 10 full bags of rubbish, significantly cleaning up the area.
“A towel, jumpers, a hairbrush and nail varnish were amongst the items picked along with the all too familiar plastic bottles and food packaging. Let’s hope we can keep the area looking tidy.”
