A MAN from Brighton has been convicted of a sexual assault which happened in Three Mile Cross earlier this week.
John Cash, 56, of Buckingham Street, Brighton, was arrested on Wednesday (26) on suspicion of sexual assault. He was charged on Thursday and pleaded guilty at Reading Magistrates’ Court.
The conviction is in connection with an incident at the Londis Store in Basingstoke Road, Three Mile Cross.
At around 7.50pm on Tuesday (25) the victim, a 16-year-old girl, entered the shop and was approached by Cash who sexually assaulted her.
Det Con Philip Wilson from Force CID in Reading, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim and happened in the early evening in a public place. I hope that the knowledge of this swift conviction will be reassuring to the local community.”
Cash is due to be sentenced on September 17.
