A Twyford travel agent has been named an expert in sustainable travel.
Marie Rowe of Travel Counsellors was selected by TTG Media and the TTG Sustainable Travel Heroes as one of 20 travel agents on the inaugural TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassadors programme in 2023.
The four-month programme saw participants attend a series of workshops to learn about the principles of sustainability and the choices they can encourage clients to make in order to make a difference.
Marie said: “The programme has opened my eyes to the many ways in which holidaymakers can be encouraged to make responsible travel choices that have a positive impact within the communities they visit, as well as how travel agents can help influence the wider industry to make changes that will have a positive impact on the planet.
“I absolutely love helping my clients make more responsible travel choices. Whether it’s a long- haul adventure in the Far East that features community tourism projects, or a luxury honeymoon stay in an eco-lodge, or a family beach break to a hotel with excellent green credentials. Any holiday can be made better.”

The TTG Sustainable Travel Ambassadors programme was delivered in conjunction with the TTG Sustainable Travel Heroes – six suppliers who are leading in their sectors.
