Wokingham town mayor, Cllr Lou Timlin, was on a walkabout in the town last week.
She popped into several businesses, including Wokingham Today which moved into offices in Peach Street in March.
Speaking about the regular meetings and chats with new retailers and businesses in the town, she said: “This is all about making these new businesses part of our town.
“For me, being mayor is all about inclusion, and making sure everyone feels included as part of our community.”
Andy Preston, editor of Wokingham Today and its sister publication Reading Today, said: “It was a pleasure to have Lou with us, and for her to learn more about our operations.”
Having established the business as a social enterprise in 2018, publisher David Riley said the move to new offices earlier this year represents a significant investment in hyper-local media, and is an important milestone in the growth of the newspaper and its online media business.
